I’ve been on a little bit of a spending ban this week simply because I know I’ll be converting some Pounds to Euros for my upcoming holiday to Spain and paying a huge amount for the ridiculous list of injections I need before I fly to Chile for a field trip. However, I was never going to make it through the week without a few coins escaping my purse…
I began the week with the obligatory shop and gossip with my Nan – and this resulted in the purchasing of two products (for £3.99 each) from Milk makeup courtesy of TK Maxx. I’d heard of this brand before because I’d seen a few hauls circulating on other blogs, and the reviews were always glowing – so I knew Milk came highly recommended. I ended up buying an eye marker and eye liner/shadow. Did I mention Milk is cruelty free and vegan as well? Bonus!
It was the packaging that first drew me to the marker (in shade “Black Sheep”) because it really did look like someone had accidentally left a highlighter in the makeup section. I wasn’t going to buy yet another eye liner, but to be honest I’m still looking for that one product to create a perfect cat-eye with. I’ve tried so many different liners, but they all seem to crack and peel off after a few hours (not good for a night out at all). However, the chisel tip of this liner makes the application super easy and even after a few hours’ wear, there was no cracking at all, so I’m really pleased with this so far.
The second Milk product I chose is also for eyes. It is labelled as a cream shadow, but it has a chisel tip that can be used to underline the eye with colour as well – so it really acts as a 2 in 1 liner and shadow. I chose the shade “Trust Fund” because it is a pale pink-gold shade with an iridescent finish that I thought would be perfect for Summer.
My cheapest purchase of the week was found in the Next outlet. I’d been looking for a new pair of Mom jeans or cropped flares to replace my current size 12s as mine no longer fit me properly round the waist. Obviously I wasn’t expecting to find a decent pair of good quality jeans for less than £10, but how could I say no to these Next cropped jeans for £2 down from £28? Bargainous.
The last product I bought wasn’t too much of a bargain as it cost me £5 from the original £6 price tag, but I’ve wanted to try a tooth whitening treatment for a while, so thought I’d give this a go. It’s from Oral-B and has a 2 step system consisting of “Perfection Toothpaste” and “Whitening Accelerator”. The toothpaste is supposed to remove surface stains, and the accelerator aims to keep teeth looking white for the rest of the day. I’ve always been a bit self-conscious about my teeth because I know they’re not as white as they could be. Even though I don’t want a Hollywood-esque white smile, I wouldn’t mind going a shade or two lighter, so I’ll start with this and see how it goes…
What bargains have you found over the last week?
