I wasn’t sure what to write about today, so I thought I’d do a quick post about my rediscovered love of all things pink, rose gold and sparkly. With the abundance of pink items in my room at the moment, I feel like I’ve fallen straight back into my childhood! So without any more introduction, here is a round up of a few of my favourite pink and rose gold items.
My first proper makeup brush was received in an edition of MyLittleBox a few months ago. After less than a week of using it to apply blusher and powder, I quickly realised that brushes were the way forward – and still using sponges and hands is stupid when there are so many amazing brushes on the market!
The next brush on my list is the gorgeous “Bomb Shell” Spectrum powder/contour brush that I received in my August BirchBox. I’d wanted a set of Spectrum brushes for months but never had the funds to buy one. However, because this brush made me want every single set available, I’ve been saving up to buy more brushes since receiving it…
…So when I found these online I had to pick them up. I bought this set of 5 genuine Spectrum brushes from eBay for £10. I love the pale pink handles and contrasting ombré bristles. Like all Spectrum brushes, these are super soft and amazing for applying almost any kind of makeup product! However, the set I’m lusting over at the moment is from the Mean Girls X Spectrum collection, so if things go to plan you might be seeing a blog post about them soon…
This Vivienne Westwood bracelet was a gift I bought for myself last year in the sale. It had been on my Christmas list – but when I didn’t receive it on Christmas Day, I decided to spend all the money I’d been given to buy it along with a few other Vivienne pieces. This bracelet is also available in Silver and Gold – I don’t really know why I chose the Rose Gold version, but I’m so glad I did! It’s beautiful.
Bill Skinner. I could write a million blog posts about this brand. I have quite a few Rose Gold pieces from Bill Skinner, but this is my favourite. The little squirrel is perfect for the Autumn months and it looks fabulous when paired with cosy sweaters and jeans.
I bought this notebook to begin planning my blog and I still love the layout and design. This Ban.do “Your Future Looks Bright” journal has a lovely pink to blue ombré, metallic gold lettering and the cutest pale pink heart stickers. It’s a fun addition to my collection of notebooks and will a permanent fixture in my bag – handy for making notes while I’m on shopping trips or in lectures!
This palette got it’s own blog post a month or so ago, but I love it – so it’s back here again for this rose gold post. For those of you that don’t know, this is a personalised palette from the Boots “Makeup Obsession” station – I chose the eyeshadow pans myself and had it engraved with my name. I was so close to buying the matte black version of this palette, but again I am so pleased I chose this gorgeous metallic pink instead. If you want a palette with a personal touch, this is definitely something to consider.
This post was never going to be complete without a bag! I bought this backpack a few years ago in the London Oxford Street Topshop from the “It’s not me, it’s you” concession. The peachy pink colour really called out to me and the slogan made me laugh – so I had to buy it! For a 16 year old at the time, the £90 price tag was a terrifying investment! But I bit the bullet and bought it, and I’m still using it almost four years later – so it was a very good buy. With the rising popularity of various shades of pink, this bag is on-trend once again and perfect for the Autumn months.
